Mrs. Mathey

1st/2nd Grade Teacher

I have called Steamboat Springs home since 2004. I moved here after graduating from college, and met my amazing husband Seth here shortly thereafter. We have three fantastic children: James, Luke, and Eva. I was born in New Jersey, lived in London, UK as a teenager, and spent my college years in Massachusetts. I have a bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from The University of Colorado Denver. I completed my student teaching, and then was hired as a Special Education teacher at Soda Creek Elementary. In 2012, my family and I moved to Loveland, CO for seven years. During that time my primary profession was being a stay-at-home mom to our children, and supporting my husband in his new career. I also tutored students in literacy and math. Our family moved back to Steamboat in 2019, and I have been homeschooling our kids for the last four years, as well as being involved in various ministries in town.
