WORLD CLASS

EDUCATION

|

k through 8TH

Steamboat Christian Academy is open to students who are in Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade. Below is our vision for pouring into our students based on three foundational tenants of our school:

Academics, Community, and Faith.

1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us.”

Vision for Academics

SCA creates a classroom environment that cultivates curiosity, enthusiasm for learning, and a seeking of wisdom through a blend of classical and contemporary education. Project and service-based learning are key components to extend the curriculum beyond the classroom environment.

What Sets SCA Apart?

  • Our curriculum is designed to build skills, provide practice, and form habits in foundational areas such as reading, research, critical thinking, writing, communication and executive functioning.

  • Experiential learning which will link subject matter to real life application.

  • Holistic education focused on physical, mental and spiritual growth so that students may reach their full potential.

  • Multi-sensory, systematic approach to teaching literacy and writing.

  • Flexible curriculum and a cohesive learning environment providing students that are typically under-challenged with increased rigor.

  • Dynamic & applicable mathematical instruction including project based learning.

  • A focus on timeless and contemporary literature consisting of stories that hold powerful themes such as friendship, adventure, imagination and loyalty.

  • Compassion Projects - Bringing learning to life in our community by linking curriculum to service projects, with local and international mission partners.

  • Weekly chapel where students will learn about God and learn from age appropriate interactive ways.

  • O2 Days - Outdoor exploration to teach stewardship, teamwork, and develop a heart for service.

  • Individualized learning with small class sizes.

Curriculum includes elements of grammar, logic, and rhetoric to establish a strong foundation for developing leaders equipped to discern the truth, problem solve, communicate clearly, and lead with grace.

Proverbs 16:15 “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver.”

Vision for Community

Students of Steamboat Christian Academy learn to use their time, talents, and resources with purpose and intention. As a learning community, we create opportunities for stewardship through service projects, extending cooperative academic learning beyond the classroom. We strive to create faithful leaders with a heart for service.

Students of Steamboat Christian Academy are encouraged to participate in community extracurriculars and sports, including SSMS sports teams and events.

Vision for Faith

Steamboat Christian Academy strives to create a learning environment where students will experience the love of God each day at school and learn how to love others just like Jesus.
